What the content is, and what it is not

Everything here is general information and editorial opinion about rugs — fibers, sizing, construction, placement and cleaning. It is researched and reviewed on the cadence set out in how we choose, and it is not professional advice about your specific floor, home or rug.

In particular, cleaning guidance is written for typical rugs of a given fiber. Your rug may differ. Always check the manufacturer's own care label, and test any product on an inconspicuous area first. We are not responsible for damage caused by a cleaning method applied to a rug it was not suited to.

Accuracy

We work hard to be accurate and we will not pretend to be infallible. Specifications change, products are discontinued, and manufacturers revise their own guidance. We review pages on a schedule and correct errors when we find them or when a reader reports one — see the editorial policy. The site is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind.
